Family and Medical Leave Act Program [PDF] - Under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), covered employers with 50 or more employees on payroll within a 75 mile radius are required to give eligible employees unpaid, job-protected leave for specified family and medical reasons. This leave must be provided with continuation of group health insurance coverage under the same terms and conditions as if the employee had not taken leave.
